Match Report - 15 Oct 2011, Old Salopian Football Club 2nd XI lost to Old Harrovians
A dark cloud descended of the OS 2nd XI this saturday past, as pretty much everything that could go wrong, did. Starting with only 9 on the pitch, they made an encouraging start, before falling behind to a deflected strike.
A change of formation at half time made a difference and the midfield established a foothold in the game. Then they were undone again, with a goal that could have been disallowed at least twice for seperate incidents in the build up. The remonstrating continued on for a number of minutes before play resumed, although the feeling of injustcice seemed to galvanise the twos and they deservedly scored next, via a dipping left foot volley from Marsh.
More baffling refereeing decisions came and went, the worst of which saw Dobbs unable to make a substitute appearance due to a technicality of the law. In didn't matter too much; Harrow scored a third, again with an element of luck. It was definitely a foul, but purposefully comitted outside the area. Final Score 3-1.
